Celebrating Mother's Day: Three Moms Who Changed the World

Mothers are caring and nurturing people who make sure we don’t die as children. Kids are fickle creatures who constantly put themselves in danger, and they require a mother—or a mother-like figure—to keep them from crawling off a cliff or eating too many batteries. Today, in honor of Mother’s Day, let’s name some impactful moms without Googling anything. Of course, my own mother won’t be on this list because that wouldn’t be fair.
Mother Nature
While more of a concept than a person, Mother Nature plays an important role in how humanity should treat the Earth. Our world should be loved and respected just like our own mothers. For example, you wouldn’t let toxic sewage run into the river behind your mom’s house. Though, to be fair, that might be hard to stop. You’d have to go to town halls and such. Maybe it would just be easier to move your mom instead of cleaning up the river. Anyway, you get the point.
Next time you're driving down the interstate and think about throwing your beer can out the window, think of Mother Nature. Would you throw a beer can at your mother? No, of course not—unless you’re a real loser. Remember, Mother Nature is actually a real person, and when she gets upset, she strikes people with lightning. So don’t get on her bad side by littering or kicking plants.

Mom from Futurama
For those unfamiliar, she’s the “chief executive officer and shareholder of 99.7% of MomCorp, one of the largest industrial conglomerates in the universe and the source of most of Earth’s robots” (Futurama Wiki). One silly-named subsidiary of hers is Mom’s Old-Fashioned Video Surveillance Company. Another fun fact: she holds trademarks on the words “Mom,” “Love,” and “Screen Door.”
Mom is a kind elderly woman who makes an honest living in the robot industry. Her work has revolutionized modern life. Robots have made Earth a much more convenient place to live, and we have Mom to thank for it.

Dr. Frankenstein
Motherhood comes in all forms—from adoptive parents to mad scientists. Raising a child or creature is one of the most important jobs in the world. In our progressive society, we’ve moved beyond traditional family structures. We should embrace same-sex parents and scientists who have to track down their evil creations to destroy them.
This brings me to my next point: if you are responsible for bringing a child or monster into the world, then you should be responsible for taking it out. If your child grows up to be a figurative or literal monster, then mothers should have the right to bring justice however they see fit. We need to change the laws of this country immediately. Perhaps, Purge-style, on Mother’s Day, moms can kill family members and not get in trouble. Anyway, Dr. Frankenstein was a noble mother who did what he had to do and pioneered a dynamic new family structure.

Appreciating Motherhood in All Forms
Moms, grandmothers, adoptive parents, personifications of nature, animated CEOs, and deranged inventors all play important roles in raising and caring for us. They are the backbone of society—nurturing and influencing the next generation. Hopefully, if you’re reading this, your mom isn’t still taking care of you. But she probably fed you, bathed you, and tracked you down if you went on a murderous rampage through the Swiss countryside. Moms do everything—and you better have thanked yours this Mother’s Day.
Happy mother's day!
