They are Doing Construction on the Street Over from Mine

I live on your average side street, but the street they shut down gets some major traffic. A few months ago, construction started to put in new pipes under the street. Since then, the traffic has been diverted to go down my block and it gets really backed up.

It's really not a big deal at all and I don't really care about it. But here are some pros and cons of this traffic being diverted down my block.

Pros:

1. It is kind of fun to watch from the window to see how backed up it can get

2. Good peoplewatching

3. Increased odds of a cool car going by

Cons:

1. If I have to go somewhere around 5pm on weeknights then I have to take the long way around

2. Sometimes they honk at each other

3. I'm scared somebody is going to sideswipe my car

The era of my life where it is age-appropriate to run a lemonade stand has passed me by. But if there aren't some kids out there soon making some money off of this captive audience, then I'll start vending some lemonade myself.
